Rummage Sale Returns August 2nd
|
The Congregational Church of Belmont will bring back its annual two-story Rummage Sale Saturday, Aug. 2, after a year’s hiatus.
Traditionally, one of the largest rummage sales in San Mateo County, the event at 751 Alameda de las Pulgas, Belmont, will start with a paid pre-sale from 8 to 9 a.m. when guests will pay $10 to be the first to see the merchandise. Those who take part in the paid pre-sale will receive a $5 coupon good for their purchases.
The main sale will take place from 9 AM. to 5 PM
with a $2 bag sale
from 4 PM to 5 PM

Sale merchandise will include kitchenware and appliances, books, clothing, children’s clothing
and equipment, toys, electronics, furniture, linen, jewelry and art.
Anyone who would like to donate items for the sale should call the church office at 650-593-4547 or
email us at belmontucc@comcast.net. A receipt will be
provided for tax deduction purposes.

On Oct. 10, 11 and 12, 2008,
the Congregational Church of Belmont will present its 26th annual Chocolate Fest.
Twenty different vendors
of chocolate wares (ice cream, gelato, brownies, cakes, cookies, truffles and candy of every sort,
as well as chunks of pure chocolate) will offer samples for tasting for the 1,000 guests.
Chocolate Fest will be organized in four sessions: Friday evening,
7:30-10 p.m.; Saturday afternoon,
1:30-4 p.m.;
Saturday evening, 7:30-10 p.m.; and Sunday afternoon,
1:30-4 p.m.

Guests are invited to take part in unlimited tasting, champagne and coffee,
a chocolate boutique and prizes.
The Michael Medwid Jazz Trio will play all four sessions.
Proceeds from Chocolate Fest benefit outreach projects
within the community (such as Samaritan House, Second Harvest Food Bank and the Interfaith
Hospitality Network) as well as the effort to maintain our historic church.

Tickets for the afternoon sessions are $17.50 in advance and $20 at the
door; seniors and children will be $15. Tickets for the evening
sessions are $22.50 in advance and $25 at the door, with no
senior/child discounts.
This year you will be able to order advance tickets online using your
Visa or Mastercard. Just click HERE and then choose the session and
number of tickets you want. Your tickets will be held at the door. This service will be
available until midnight Oct. 10. If you have questions
